Athena's Advice To Luke/Luke to Ty Hand Me Downs

Yesterday I picked up the boys after school. I jokingly asked the boys if anyone beat them up today. Luke responded with a smile "Well, in PE we played basketball and the other team kept throwing the ball at my face." I laughed "You're suppose to catch the ball with your hands!"

Today dropping the boys off at school...
Luke left the van first so I said my goodbyes to him first. "Do your best on your school work and have a fun day!" Then Athena added her advice (in her soft sweet voice) "And catch the ball this time!"
Then I said my goodbyes to Ty as he left the van. The door shut and Athena began a new conversation with me. "When brothers grow up they will be dads"
She continued "When I grow up I'm going to be...a baker!"
I asked "Are you going to be a mom when you grow up?"
She responded "Yeah, a mom who buys ice cream. Ice cream that doesn't cost too much."
LOL

Tiberias is at school today with only a jacket, no coat. It was 33degrees when I dropped him off. But he isn't bothered by the cold as much as Luke or I. Ty tries to get away with leaving the house without a coat. And when he leaves school, even to walk home, he doesn't always wear his coat.
This morning I may have figured out part of the reason...

I made him put his coat on and he was unhappy then I saw it...his coat is way too small.
See, Ty was always small for his age. He wears clothes smaller than his age. But in the last 6 months he has grown a lot! And I didn't realize he outgrew his coat!

So today I will rectify this. How? The same way as usual...I will give Luke's to Ty and buy Luke a new larger one. Poor Ty. He hasn't complained yet though. Sometimes Ty gets new things. Since we buy most of our shoes, boots, clothes and coats at Walmart some things wear out and have to be thrown away by the time Ty goes through them. Even if they were brand new when Ty first received them. And Luke doesn't always have hand me downs to give to Ty when he needs them.

My kids are great. And I want to have this record to look back on when my kids are all grown up. To look back, smile and even laugh. They are such cute kids!
