2 Years Ago Today-An Athena Story

Facebook shared with me a memory from two years ago...

"I am proud of my daughter. The way she is transitioning from nursery to primary. And the way she answered a question posed by Bro Stone during Sharing Time. Despite the fact that the question was 'What might happen if you don't put your toys away?' And her response was 'Your mom will yell at you!' (Being that her mom is Primary President)"
 Then vs Now:
Funny story about 6 year old Athena:
Yesterday I picked out her outfit. She wore a black shirt with a jean vest and jean pants. She rocked that outfit! Her teachers loved it! They complimented her and made her feel like her outfit was the coolest and she could do anything.

After school I picked her up and learned that for the first time ever she had earned the highest rating for behavior in class. Purple is the highest rating, then blue, then green, yellow, orange then red. She is usually a green and sometimes blue. Once in a while a yellow.
But she finally reached purple! I was so proud and so was she. I gave her a toy as a prize hoping she can start getting purple and being amazing for her teachers more often.

This morning she dressed yesterday's clothes...even with food smeared on the black shirt.
I told her she couldn't wear dirty clothes to school. She said that her outfit was so cool she had to wear it again today so that she would gain purple again! She was convinced that her outfit was lucky and caused her to reached purple.
I couldn't convince her otherwise.

So, I found a clean black shirt and we switched it out. She even had to have her hair be the same way with the same hair band!

At the end of school she had reached a green behavior level. She was disappointed. But she is super cute!
